We are not a religious organization, but we do recognize the potential in every individual's spiritual path or practice. We are also committed to fun and connection as we move through a complex and hurting world, and believe that joy is personal, radical, spiritual, and transformative.

Because all humans are uniquely beautiful, and the world benefits from our expressing that beauty. “Hunks” are gender neutral in our context.

Meet CQ:
our Chief Experience Officer
Hunky Monk began with a simple belief: joyful, aligned people create a better world.
CQ grew up the son of a pastor in a restrictive religious environment, experiencing both the power and the limitations of traditional spiritual spaces. Navigating that world as a closeted gay kid required reading the energy in every room carefully. Over the course of his life, CQ turned that survival skill into a superpower as a coach and facilitator. He listens deeply, notices what often goes unsaid, and helps clients distinguish between what they genuinely want for their lives and what their circumstances may have convinced them they should want.
CQ studied Theatre and Sociology at San Francisco State University, exploring the intersection of theatre for social change. He later earned a Master of Arts in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University's Teachers College, focused on leadership, systems, and change.
His professional journey includes over a decade in nonprofit and public health work empowering organizations and communities across the United States, followed by a decade in the corporate sector driving change management, culture transformation and leadership development initiatives for companies across the globe.
CQ is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP). He also holds a certification in Political Education from the School of Unity and Liberation (SOUL) and is certified in administering Hogan Leadership Assessments. But the most meaningful credential for CQ comes from San Francisco Peer Resources, the program that helped him find, accept and truly become himself as a young person. His learnings there continue to guide how he operates today.
Through the founding of Hunky Monk Ministries, CQ brings together a breadth of experiences in community organizing, leadership development, psychology, spirituality, and coaching all in hopes of helping as many people as he can create and enjoy the lives of their dreams.
